Detailed Itinerary

1

The first stop on the itinerary is Belgrade Fortress, the historical core of the city. Today this huge fortress is turned into a park, packed with highlights and amazing views over the rivers Sava and Danube. Here you will find attractions such are: Ruzica Church, Zindan Gate, Despot’s Tower, Victor Monument, Military Museum... With you private guide you will check all of them followed by interesting local stories.

2

After exploring the Fortress, you will meet and feel Knez Mihailova Street – the most vibrant street in the city center. On our itinerary, we'll check the oldest tavern in the city, the famous "?", the Orthodox Cathedral, Republic square, and other gems of architecture in the pedestrian zone. While walking and soaking the atmosphere of Knez Mihalova your guide will tell you first handed stories and bring back some old times of this cultural district.

3

The next stop is a gorgeous Saint Sava Church which keeps the memory of the most important Serbian saint from the XII century. This impressive white marble church is one of the biggest Orthodox churches in the world. You will learn why it took more than 80 years to finish and hear more interesting stories about this spiritual place. Also, you will explore it from the inside, and admire its interior decoration. Millions of mosaic cubic pieces in thousands of shades make a unique masterpiece of art.

4

From the urban city center, you will move on to the suburbs of Belgrade. The next stop is Avala Mountain which is the most popular nature sight in Belgrade. Avala is barely a mountain with its 511 m height but it is everyone’s favorite picnic place. Besides clean forests and fresh air, here you will find a few important landmarks. First, you will check a monument of the Unknown hero which was built in the 1930s and has a very intriguing background story.

5

The second sight is the famous Avala TV Tower (204m high) which is the symbol of the mountain. This tower was destroyed in 1999 by NATO and restored 10 years later. “This was one of the best expereinces I’ve had in the Balkans. Miljan really knows what people are looking for a hands on and genuine experience. This is not simply a tour. This is a day of conversation as if you were just going for a drive with a mate. Would recommend in a heartbeat!”
