✅ Wines from indigenous grape varieties
Your first wine stop is the village of Vlaški Do and Despotika Winery, a newly established winery with ambitious plans and an enthusiastic owner. Despotika has several wine labels made from different kinds of grapes, but one is unique – Morava, indigenous Serbian grape variety. Only a few winemakers in Serbia grow Morava, so you’ll have a unique opportunity to try this white wine. Of course we won’t stop only with Morava, there are many Despotika’s wines to taste. NOTE: This winery doesn't operate from the 1st of November till the 1st of April. In that period this winery won't be part of the itinerary.
Further we'll take you to the town Topola which has a long history of wine production. Topola is also the place where our Royal family Karađorđević nurtured their vineyards and where they created the famous Trijumf (Triumph) wine. The highlight of the King's Winery is the original king’s wine cellar which is in excellent condition, so you’ll have the opportunity to see how the king made his wine some 85 year ago. But no worries here, you'll have a chance to try their wines made in the contemporary winery. NOTE: Renovation of the King’s Winery is expected during the spring/summer 2024 so there might be changes to the availability of this stop.
Next stop is one of the most prominent Serbian wineries from the 1990s onwards, Aleksandrović Winery. This is a modern, yet very traditional establishment which produces only high quality wines. Aleksandrović produces many different labels, but they are best known for their Trijumf (Triumph) range, including sparkling wines. Here you'll learn the connection between the Triumph produced in the Royal Winery and in Aleksandrović. After a tour through the wine cellar with a local host, you'll try some of the famous Aleksandrovic wines while enjoying an amazing view over vineyards.NOTE: Lunch with wine tasting can be organized in Aleksandrović Winery upon request. Please contact us after booking in order to sort the lunch with wine tasting details. After the lunch the private wine tour ends and you are taken back to your drop-off point in Belgrade.
For the finale of the tour, we'll take you to a small family owned winery, where you'll meet the winemaker(and also a certified sommelier), and hear his passionate story about how he traded his corporate career for winemaker's career. He will serve food together with his wines and explain what makes his wines unique. You'll also learn from him why his favorite wine is Merlot.NOTE: In case of a solo traveler, we will take you to a local restaurant for lunch instead.
